ROI calculator

How much would this save you?

A senior reviewer at $95/hour, six hours per SOC PDF, is $570 per report. A mid-market vendor risk team running 120 reports a year is spending $68,400 on vendor SOC review alone — before re-work, before audit prep, before reviewer turnover.

Growth tier breaks even at ~42 reports/year. Most teams crossed that line years ago.

What the math looks like at five volumes

Same assumptions as the calculator above (6 hr/report, $95/hr). The recommended tier is whichever absorbs the volume without paying overage.

Where the value actually lands

Four buyers, four different ROI stories

Chief Audit Executive
Defensibility is the saved cost.

Even if SOC Bot saved zero hours, the HMAC-signed four-eyes attestation pack alone justifies it at audit committee time. ROI here is the audit you didn't have to defend on a Google Doc.

Head of Vendor Risk
Cover the 60% you weren't reading.

Most portfolios review only the loudest 40% of vendor SOC reports because the rest can't fit in the hour budget. Push throughput from 1.5/day to 12/day and that gap closes — savings are real, but coverage is the win.

GRC Director
One fewer Word template.

The math on the right is the easy part. The unmeasured cost is reviewer fatigue, drift between reviewers, and the Friday rework that nobody logs. Standardize the workflow, retain your reviewers, and stop training analysts on PDF mechanics.

CISO / Security
Your data, your keys, your tenancy.

BYOK against Anthropic and Gemini means prompts (SOC report text) never leave your LLM account. Row-level org isolation. On-prem / air-gapped option for the deals where data residency is the deal.

Methodology

How we get to $570/report

Hours per report

Industry benchmark of 4–8 hours for a thorough mid-market SOC review (metadata, scope, opinion, exception triage, CUEC enumeration, evidence cross-reference). We use 6 as the median.

Hourly rate

$95/hr is the fully-loaded cost of a senior internal auditor or vendor-risk analyst (base + benefits + overhead). Adjust upward for managers or directors.

What we don’t count

Reviewer turnover, audit-committee re-work, regulator follow-ups, missed renewals because the SOC was stale. The savings number is conservative.

Run the numbers on your actual portfolio.

Send us your last year of vendor SOC review volume and reviewer cost. We’ll give you back a one-page ROI memo, your suggested tier, and a 30-day pilot scoping if it warrants one.
